Why prototyping?

Qcubed is considered "rapid prototyping" framework. From a person that already deployed a number of Qcubed based web sites I think that the word "prototyping" is mis explaining the fact that the framework enables strong database connectivity and scaffolding. For me prototyping is not equal to RAD. Ideas?

I actually agree. I don't think "rapid prototyping" is delivering the right message.
I think I agree with the sharnov, the home page makes it sound like the framework is good for creating prototypes, but not fully functional applications.
Personally, I wouldn't use the word "prototyping" at all. QCubed is much more powerful than that.
I think it should be "Rapid Web Development Framework" or "Rapid PHP development framework".
What's the procedure for changing it, now that we also have a new home page design?
S~
I have been thinking so too.
I agree.
Nice top page:-)
We'll fix it in the upcoming week. As you know, we recently migrated servers, and not all simple things are simple just yet. But they will be :)
Fixed!
I'd love it if we could discuss the exact text that appears over on the left side of the homepage - that stuff is pretty important :) It makes or breaks a good first impression. Gotta make it just right!
hi alex, the
< title >still has prototyping in it.Also, my two cents. "that focuses on rapid application development" makes it sound like qcubed isn't enterprise ready and just for people that want to bang code out. Not sure you agree. but it could be reworded to something like:
"that focuses on rapid, enterprise web application development" or something...
although I understand why PHP5 is there, it is a pain for google.
when searching for "php framework" in google.be (my local google site), QCubed is not in the first few results (read: first few pages!). When searching for "PHP5 framework", we are in the top 3!
So I would suggest add "php" or replace php5 with just PHP.
Folks - let's try to go with complete proposals here, instead of focusing just on the first few words.
1) I agree that we need to project "enterprise-ready", but it cannot be the focal point (as we currently do not offer paid support, there's not a consulting company in place that does training, etc).
2) "PHP5 framework" versus "PHP framework": I agree with Kristof. According to Google Trends (http://www.google.com/trends?q=PHP5+framework%2C+PHP+framework&ctab=0&ge...), nobody is searching for PHP5 framework - everybody does just "PHP framework" searches.
