Two issues with 2.0.2
Mon, 12/20/2010 - 19:21
Folks,
I found two relatively severe issues with 2.0.2 so far - both of them are preventing me from deploying 2.0.2 into production.
1) Ticket #671, Radio buttons are completely broken with QServerAction. I have a simple patch that fixes the issue. Core contribs - please sign off on it ASAP.
2) Ticket #673, AJAX parse errors. I'm at loss around how to fix this. One of our jQuery / javascript gurus - please investigate.
I think we need to patch both of these issues and release 2.0.3 hotfix release quickly.

Update: we have a solution for #673 and it was just committed. 671 remains - just needs testing and code review.
Alex,
Let's not rush with the hotfix releases. I like the idea, but let's wait for a couple of weeks - we may find other important fixes to go into the hotfix release. We don't wanna have a hotfix every other day... People who can't wait, can always apply patches or use HEAD.

Vakopian - how about we go with a middle-of-the-road approach: wait one more week (till New Years) and if there are no more critical issues found, release the update.
My concern is that the majority of our customers aren't really comfortable with using our SVN or applying patches. So particularly when we claim that 2.0.2 is stable, we need to be quick in releasing updates for critical issues. Note that upgrading is pretty trivial with 2.0+: just replace the assets/_core and includes/_core folders and you're done.
Alex, i'm posting on ticket 671 with some questions
Edit: also I think one week is plenty of time..
