Errors Upon Errors: PHP and XAMPP on Windows Server 2003
Good day folks,
I just installed a Qcubed app on a windows 2003 server running XAMPP. I discovered a lot of **SCARY** things about QCUBED after this installation and I'd really need your help please.
1. First of all, when we installed the app, we couldn't access it at all from the client systems and the server and to think of it, they were noth throwing DIFFERENT errors. I discovered that the errors from the clients pointed to VexedPanda's handling magic quotes function so I disabled that. That fixed the clients. Now the server's errors kept pointing to a missing QFORM__CallType parameter in QFormBase.
2. I also discovered that when I accessed the page via http://localhost/ on the server, it ran properly on Firefox (but not on i-explorer), however, when I accessed it via the remote address (192.168.3.12/), it simply threw the call type errors described above in all browsers.
Please I need to know why this is so and what I ought to do about it. Is it that QCUBED is not supported on Windows Server based systems or is there a compatibility issue with QCUBED and XAMPP? Please HELP....

Profnotime,
I've been running QCubed/QCodo on a Windows box with XAMPP for the last 3 years at least. There are no generic compatibility problems here. No reason to panic.
Make sure that your server has magic quotes off.
Check that you have the latest version of XAMPP running on that system.
Thanks Alex for the re-assurance. I was almost backsliding!!!
But another thing Alex, which is by the way, WHY did you guys forget to post a message on the home page about PHP5.3 and Qcubed. It took me by a great surprise to upgrade and get blank pages. I almost fainted. But when I searched, I discovered its an issue you had discovered and fixed in 1.0.1. Presently, I can't bear the pains of upgrading all my enterprise apps to that version because I used a lot of __toString formating and changing them to qFormat will take a bit of time but I plan to do that later though. Thanks for your guidance and help. I really appreciate.
Cheers!
(Behind the scenes gossip: Alex, is QCODO being revived? I noticed small bits of activities and a revamped site @ qc dot com after the ZendCon 2009).
We tried tooting the horn of QCubed 1.0.1 in the realm of PHP 5.3 compat - but alas, there's so much stuff on the home page that it's not visible enough. You found out on your own :-).
I too am suffering because of the __toString() stupidity on the PHP engine part... Life's life, sometimes we gotta do what Zend wants. And they want us to rewrite all that code. A simple way to do this is to do a search-replace for __toString(), changing it to the new function QDateTime->qFormat().
On QCodo revival: Mike Ho is back to life, and that's great - he's a fantastic developer. Unfortunately, the fundamental issue that has plagued QCodo is still there: he's not willing to give up control over the core of the framework to the developer community. Which is why QCubed will continue going its separate way, with the hope that lack of dependency on 1 (very smart) person will make sure the project doesn't go dead for 2 years. You can see a long discussion about this here: http://qcu.be/content/qcubed-and-qcodo.
